St. Pancratius church in Hoogeloon
The 100th anniversary of the St. Pancratius Church in Hoogeloon will mark a unique anniversary in 2024. In the anniversary month of June, I will be exhibiting my urban art works in the church. The 100-year history of this impressive building inspired me to exhibit my artworks here. In collaboration with Parochie Petrus & Paulus, I'll show that 'old' is actually very modern.
UrBAn Artworks
Through my photography, I strive to capture the soul of abandoned buildings, transforming their fleeting nature into timeless beauty. Each image invites you on a journey through neglected and dilapidated structures, revealing their hidden stories and forgotten histories. I seek to highlight the stark contrasts between decay and the remnants of past grandeur, finding harmony in the interplay of light and shadow, nature and neglect. My work is not just about documenting what once was, but about uncovering the enduring beauty that persists even in the most unlikely places. Every photograph tells a story of resilience and the passage of time, offering a glimpse into the silent yet powerful narratives etched within the walls of these forgotten spaces.
Mission
My mission with photography and art is to observe and capture the beauty of the past. To create beautiful images to uplift, encourage, and inspire others to think what’s the story. Join me
vision
In photography, vision is the power of observation; it’s how you notice things that are worth capturing, how you document things that are worth remembering, how you see stories that are worth telling.
Pastor Harm Schilder of Petrus & Paulus Parish gives a welcome speech, in which he beautifully explains the similarities and confluence of the church and my works of art to the entire audience.
