imereti

The grandeur of Hotel or Sanatorium Imereti once stood as a testament to Tskaltubo's prominence in Georgia's hospitality landscape. Constructed amidst the burgeoning wave of development in the early fifties, it was among the towering edifices that dotted the landscape alongside numerous sanatoriums and hotels, symbolizing an era of prosperity and rejuvenation.

However, the passage of time has not been kind to this architectural marvel. The once resplendent structure now bears the weight of neglect and decay, its faded façade a stark reminder of bygone glory. Despite its dilapidated state, the potential for revival has not been overlooked. Ambitious plans have been set forth, outlining an investment of approximately 13 million dollars aimed at resurrecting the hotel to its former splendor.

Once the renovation is complete, Hotel Imereti is poised to reclaim its status as a premier destination for travelers. With 277 meticulously refurbished rooms, it will once again beckon guests with the promise of unparalleled luxury and comfort. However, it is important to note that the current occupants of the premises are primarily internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Abkhazia, underscoring the complex socio-political dynamics that continue to shape the region.
