Industrial stories

Taking or Capturing the stories of the past, that’s what I like to do most. In general I go to abandoned industrial locations, because there you feel and taste the history of hard working people.

It was therefore a great honor when I was approached in 2021 if I wanted to photograph their oil drilling platforms for Petrogas. The assignment “we would like to see the stories of our platforms, platforms that have been in business in the North Sea for over 45 years”

"Capture the past"

The assignment “we would like to see the stories of our platforms, platforms that have been in business in the North Sea for over 45 years”

Well …. thats my specialty, through the lens of my camera I’ll encounter and see the beauty of the past.

To work on an oil drilling (rigg) platform at all, you first have to take a number of training courses and exams. See my previous post.

Are you looking for an experienced corporate photographer? An offshore photographer who tells stories with his photography? Then you’ve come to the right place.

On this page you can see photos of a Petrogas drilling platform. The assignment was very clear: visualize the past in the way you can. Show the history of 45 years of work on the North Sea.

In 4 to 5 days per location, the entire drilling platform was photographed and it rotated along with the crews on board. “The solidarity and atmosphere on the platform is great, safety is of paramount importance”.

The composition is of course special and the incidence of light much different than usual. That produces beautiful images.
